ABOUT

Malabar is a family business that is based in Saint-Paul since 1991.

It started out as two young brothers, Eric and Bruno, arrived in the village thirty years ago with a passion for food and a plan to run a restaurant together. Bruno in the kitchen and Eric in the service.

After a few years, Bruno went back to his home city, Bordeaux, to start a new career path and Eric took his place in the kitchen. Having no experience whatsoever in the cooking department, he spent hours researching recipes and trying new things. This is how a new passion was born. Eric is now a self-taught chef that likes to work with local producers to give you a taste of the fresh Provence food.

Having travelled a lot in Asia when they were younger they take inspiration from those rich experiences in the name "Malabar" which comes from a South-West region in India covering the Kerala with the districts of Kanyakumari, Tulu Nadu & Kodagu.

At Malabar we favour quality and fresh cuisine, we are concerned about the environment and the traceability of our products. We only cook with regional and organic products in order to give you the best authentic & local experience, our main producer is Les Légumes de Saint Paul.

The dishes are colourful and for all tastes: meat lovers, vegetarians and vegans are all welcome.

Proud of his origins, Eric's menu is also inspired by the South-West and highlights the duck in the famous foie-gras, the duck breast and the duck confit.

Thanks to our partnership with Passiona Pates, we have fresh ravioli everyday. On our menu you will find stuffings like goat cheese + ratatouille, ricotta + basil, mushroom + foie-gras and many more...

With its cobbled streets, its numerous galeries and its typical Provence fountains, Saint-Paul de Vence is a historic village to visit all year-round

Located along the ramparts, our outdoor terrace enjoys a panoramic view of the coast with a sea view on the left (Villeneuve-Loubet beach to the Cap d'Antibes) and a mountain view on the right (Col de Vence)

The interior is an old village house with original ceiling dating from the seventeenth century; there is a cozy, contemporary decoration and a provencal colour palette with the sage green doors and the many flowers.
